Hari ini tepatnya jam 21.07 ada alert dari YahooMessenger yang memberitahukan bahwa saya dapat email baru dengan subject “Your PayPal ID has been suspended“. Dalam hati berpikir kok bisa ya… dipikir lagi kayaknya saya gak daftar paypal pake email yahoo deh… Untuk mengobati rasa penasaran, saya buka tuh email dan isinya adalah:

Karena ada tulisan gini ”The fastest and the most efficient way of becoming unsuspended is by clicking on the link below, login into your account and provide us additional information.” maka saya buka link tersebut dan mengarah ke alamat “http://truckpulls.com/phpBB2/images/avatars/cgi-bin3/webscr.php?cmd=_login-run”. Trus saya buka paypal yang asli “https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run”, secara tampilan keduanya sangat mirip. Yang membedakan adalah kalo di website yang asli terdapat dropdown pilihan bahasa, sedangkan diweb yang palsu dropdown tersebut tidak ada. Dan di web yang palsu semua link tidak berfungsi jika kita klik.

So… berhati-hatilah kalo dapet email seperti di atas. Jika mendapat email seperti di atas atau yang mirip-mirip, berikut langkah yang bisa ditempuh untuk memverifikasi.
- Perhatikan pengirim email tersebut.
- Jika ada link yang direkomendasikan buka aja link-nya dan kemudian buka web yang asli, bandingkan keduanya.
- Jangan panik dan jangan terburu-buru untuk memasukan account Anda.
